Offered to ages 16-24 years

 

The Legacy program offers a HS diploma or HSED to high school eligible youth. Small groups offer support in academics, college and career preparation. Along with this pathway, accepted students receive a paid internship in the fields of construction and conservation. Other programs are offered for youth who have graduated high school and looking for hands-on experience.

Offered to ages 16-23 years

Gateway to College @ Madison Area Technical College offers an opportunity to earn high school credit toward a diploma and college credits at the same time enabling students to go on to finish an associate's degree or transfer to a four-year college or university. With the guidance of a resource specialist, GtC offers scholarships to pay for tuition and books. Through the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, scholarships are available to youth currently out of school.

Offered to ages HS juniors and seniors

Night School is available students enrolled in Madison Metropolitan School District high school. The Night School option is only available to high school juniors and seniors, if referred by a school counselor. Students will need at least 11 earned credits before speaking with their school counselor. Classes begin at each academic quarter and operate Monday through Thursday evenings. 

OMEGA SCHOOL

Omega School offers students who are 18 and a half years or older the opportunity to receive general education development, or GED. In a small, low student to teacher ratio environment, Omega offers individualized instruction and preparation for all GED exams. Onsite child care is also available to those in need. Instruction and exams are available in English and Spanish.

The School of Academic Advancement at Madison Area Technical College offers a variety of options for students 18 and a half years or older. Particularly, the High School Equivalency Diploma, or HSED, is available for minimal cost to Wisconsin residents not currently enrolled in high school and have yet to earn their high school diploma. Vouchers and financial assistance is available to pay for textbooks and exams.
